RAMSTEIN (UN) AIRBASE
Ramstein AB (ETAR), Kaiseralautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany is a FSX
default Airport with building and objects, but most of them with a high scenery
density. (your scenery settings would have to be set on high to see them)
(Fictional based on google earth) I have developed the north-west area of the
main apron which was undeveloped. Our scenery can be viewed with normal
settings (Medium). Enhancements include;  US HELO COMMAND COMMAND;
US AIRLIFT COMMAND (Fictional), US FIGHTER COMMAND; (Fictional).

The Boeing 314 Flying Boat made history as the first fixed wing aircraft to officially transport the
United States President. Designated the C-98 ,many of these aircraft were sold to the US Navy
but remained to be operated by a highly skilled Pan American crew for inter-continental flight.
Franklin D. Roosevelt and staff arrived in Miami by rail, January 11, 1943. They departed the
next day on the "Dixie Clipper" (the president) and the Atlantic Clipper (staff) to meet with
Winston Churchill at the  Casablanca Conference.
We added this historical Aircraft only after assembling many files and some adjustments.
On Oct. 10, 1962, VC-137C number 26000 entered USAF service directly from the Boeing assembly
line in Renton, Wash. President Kennedy had the aircraft painted in striking blue and
white instead of the usual military colors to give it a distinctive look. The title "United States of
America" was emblazoned on the fueselage and an American flag was painted on the tail. This
aircraft carried eight presidents: Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George W. Bush,
and Clinton. In December 1972 another Boeing 707-320, aircraft 27000, became the primary
presidential aircraft and 26000 became a back-up. Kennedy flew aboard SAM 26000 to Dallas,
Texas, where he was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963 then carried his body and President Johnson
back to Washington, D.C
The US Air Force issued a "Request For Proposal" in 1985 for two wide-body aircraft with a
minimum of three engines and an un-refueled range of 6,000 miles to replace the aging Boeing
707s currently in use.  Boeing with the 747 and McDonnell Douglas with the DC-10 submitted
proposals.
The Reagan Administration ordered two identical specifically configured, highly customized Boeing
747-200B series aircraft. The interior designs were drawn up by First Lady Nancy Reagan, and
were reminiscent of the American Southwest.
The first of two aircraft designated VC-25A was delivered in 1990, during the administration of
George H. W. Bush. Delays were experienced to allow for additional work to protect the aircraft
from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) effects.
The VC-25 is equipped with both secure and unsecure phone and computer communications
systems, enabling the president to perform duties while in the air in the event of an attack on the
United States.
The Air Force is looking into replacing the two VC-25 aircraft with three replacement aircraft
beginning in 2017
This Douglas DC-6B aircraft was converted to VC-118A and first used by John F. Kennedy in
September 1961. It was the last Presidential aircraft to be powered by piston-driven engines. The
aircraft 53-3240 was actually designated the official presidential aircraft in the early years of the
Kennedy administration and remained part of the presidential fleet during the Kennedy-Johnson
Administration, even though the White House had acquired a VC-137 for use as "Air Force One"
in 1962. Unlike the Boeing VC-137's it could land  at small airports, including Hyannis.
NOTE: Any aircraft is designated "Air Force One" IF the President is aboard.
Otherwise it is know by it's designated call sign.
If the Vice-President is aboard, an aircraft is designated "Air Force Two"
If aboard Marine Corps Helicopters the designation "Marine One" (or Two) is made.
